Masturbating may protect against prostate cancer
Followup article that explains in detail how ejaculating may protect males from prostate cancer. This study contradicts a previous study that showed that frequent sexual activity increases the risk of prostate cancer by 40 percent. This discrepancy is explained by the current study as the current study only correlates ejaculation regardless of whether it involved intercourse.
"If these findings hold up, then it's perfectly reasonable that men should be encouraged to masturbate"
This study only determined correlation between masturbation and prostate cancer. As such it does not prove that changing ones habits and ejeculating more will result in protective effects, only that if you already ejaculate frequently you are likely less at risk.
